“We remember our soldiers, officers, Belarusian partisans and underground fighters, women who took up arms. All those who did not choose between the gallows and enemy mercy, but died as heroes, not as traitors. We bow our heads before the mothers who gave their sons and daughters to the front. Even today, with pain in our hearts, we remember the children of war who grew up in adversity, taking rifles in their hands or manning machine guns in the rear. We are proud of everyone who, after Victory, raised Belarus from the ruins, rebuilding the cities, restoring the national economy,” quotes the Belarusian leader’s press service.
