On May 7, a concert dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory took place at the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing.

Before the start of the concert, exhibitions were organized for the guests. The Moscow branch of the “Russian Glory Alley” project provided a photo exhibition “Jubilee Victory Parades in Moscow.” The volunteer group “Moscow – Beijing” also prepared an exhibition of Soviet stamps and models of military equipment.

The central event of the evening was the transfer of the Flame of Memory. A particle of the Eternal Flame from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexandrovsky Garden was delivered to Beijing by actress and public figure Maria Kozhevnikova as part of the annual People’s Front campaign “Flame of Memory.” The lamp was handed over to the advisor of the Russian Embassy in China, head of the Russian Cultural Center Tatyana Borisovna Urzhumtseva.

“I want this fire to become a symbol of unbreakable friendship and shared memory for the younger generations. We are the heirs of the Great Victory, and the truth about the war is forever in our hearts,” noted Maria Kozhevnikova. Tatyana Urzhumtseva thanked the People’s Front team for their work on the improvement of military burial sites, search activities, and their reverent attitude towards the memory of the heroes. “As long as we remember — the heroes are alive,” she emphasized.

A minute of silence was announced after the ceremony.

The concert program featured soloists of the vocal and pop studio “Tandem”, Egor Betetin with the song “Buevnal’sky Sentry”, as well as, for the first time, the Russian cultural center, created in January 2026.

The performances of Chinese ensembles attracted special attention from the audience. The choir of the Taikang boarding house, consisting of elderly people, performed “Komsomol Farewell” and “Song of Anxious Youth.” The combined creative team presented the songs “Wide Is My Native Land,” “Farewell Slavyanka,” and “Katyusha.”

Also in the program were “I Look at the Blue Lakes” performed by Anna Timofeeva and “I Want There to Be No More War” by Ramazan Aliev.

The finale of the evening was the joint performance of the main Victory song by the ROC choir and the audience.
