On May 8, a traditional festive program dedicated to Victory Day was held on the square in front of the main building of NSU. The event attracted not only students, staff, and teachers of the university, but also residents of Akademgorodok.

As organizers, we set an important task for ourselves: to unite different generations on the eve of the memorable date. Every year we strive to make the event sincere and heartfelt, to touch and convey historical authenticity, immersing ourselves in the atmosphere of the 40s, which is why search and reconstruction clubs come to us. They help to arrange the event site,— toldElena Krasilova, head of the youth policy and educational work department of NGU.

At the celebration, anyone who wished could touch history, eat soldier’s porridge prepared in a military field kitchen, see attributes of pre-war life, wartime and the USSR period. At the site in the “Military Hospital” one could see the tools of military medics and listen to stories about the feats of nurses at the front. At the retro car exhibition, there were presented the GAZ “Polutorka” (1.5-ton truck), BA-10 armored cars, and motorcycles. For a more detailed acquaintance with the exhibits of the exhibitions “Frontline Path of Siberian Science” and “Scientists — to the Front”, one could take a historical quiz prepared by teachers of NGU.

There was also the traditional retro fashion show organized by the cultural and historical center “Integral 2.0.” Those interested could try on and choose outfits from the prepared collection of the 1940s, join the fashion show, or simply take photographs.

The vocal studio “Million Voices”, the Academic Choir of NGU, and students of SUNTS NGU, who joined the celebration of the commemorative date, performed front-line songs. The musicians performed melodies familiar to everyone since childhood.

This year, students of SUNTS joined our festive concert to perform war-time songs, as well as the dance club “Soyuz – Señores,” which includes teachers from NGU and employees of the Siberian Branch of the RAS. Along with the medieval dance studio “Medieval” and the dance studio “Valsy,” they demonstrated a high level of dance culture of Akademgorodok.— addedElena Krasilova.

For all event guests wishing to learn to dance, a master class was held with a detailed breakdown of movements to the melody “Rio-Rita” and other popular compositions.

The celebration with the Victory Waltz performed by the student dance community NGU “ad libitum” has concluded.
