UN, May 8 /Xin Hua/ — UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres calls on all parties to exercise maximum restraint to avoid further escalation of the situation after the exchange of strikes in the Hormuz Strait, the deputy official representative of the UN chief Farhan Haq reported on Friday.
Speaking at the daily briefing, F. Hak noted that the Secretary-General is concerned about reports of a recent shooting in the Strait of Hormuz area.
As the diplomat A. Guterres pointed out, he calls on all parties to fully observe the ceasefire regime and refrain from any actions that could lead to a renewal of the escalation of the situation or undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts.
