Beijing, May 8 /Xinhua/ — More than 120 guests, including representatives from over 40 countries and international organizations, as well as experts and scholars from China and other countries, gathered on Friday at a meeting within the framework of the Beijing “Xianshan” Forum to discuss current international and regional issues and contribute to the creation of a more just and rational global governance system.
The meeting, jointly organized by the Chinese Association of Military Sciences and the Chinese Society for the Study of International Strategy, serves as a prelude to the Beijing forum “Xianshan,” scheduled for the autumn of this year.
During the two-day meeting, participants from Brazil, Germany, France, Russia, and other countries will hold roundtable discussions devoted to the international order and the rule of law, challenges arising in the field of security in the Asia-Pacific region, shared responsibility for global security, as well as risks and management of military use of new technologies.
This year, the Beijing forum “Xiángshān” is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its founding. During the aforementioned meeting, a special anniversary session will take place, in which representatives of world-renowned analytical centers in the field of defense and security will participate to jointly analyze the twenty-year journey of the forum and discuss its unique value in facilitating an equal dialogue, achieving consensus, and resolving disagreements. -0-
