On the eve of Victory Day, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko visited the cities of Donetsk, Makeevka, and Volnovakha in the Donetsk People’s Republic on a working trip. He assessed education, science, youth policy, and sports facilities, and also communicated with the region’s youth.

The youth center “30/09” in Donetsk, named in honor of the date of the reunification of the Donetsk People’s Republic with Russia, has been operating since 2026. It houses sections of “First Movement”, the presidential platform “Russia – the land of opportunities”, the society “Knowledge”, and others. A special place in the center is occupied by a multimedia park with large-scale exhibits dedicated to the history of Russia and Donbass.

At the venue of this youth center, the vice-premier welcomed the participants of the sports-patriotic forum of the organization “People’s Militia,” dedicated to Victory Day, and the project “Donbass.Career.” The event was also attended by the state secretary — deputy head of the Rosmolodezh, Denis Ashirov.

“We will carry out the instructions of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and create conditions so that you can realize your many talents. This center is the largest in our country, magnificently equipped. Here gathers the most remarkable, talented youth, those who are focused on helping and do not spare themselves. I am sure that by giving the most precious thing you have—time, sometimes risking your health and even life—you are definitely making the right choice,” Dmitry Chernyshenko noted.

The vice-premier evaluated the work of the Donetsk Botanical Garden. Its collection includes more than 7 thousand species, forms, and varieties of plants. The Donetsk Botanical Garden is actively engaged in science. It operates eight scientific laboratories, including a youth laboratory. The Donetsk Botanical Garden is a center for the development of industrial botany. For example, it addresses issues of greening urbanized areas. The results have been successfully implemented in practice.

In the Donetsk medical and sports dispensary, the vice-premier interacted with the staff. Recently, the dispensary was connected to the ‘Unified Digital Athlete Permit’ system. Now, together with the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, 35 regions are involved in it.

In Makeyevka at the Donbas National Academy of Construction and Architecture (DONNASA), Dmitry Chernyshenko laid flowers at the memorial in memory of the deceased student and staff member, appreciated the university’s sports and educational infrastructure, volunteer center, and also communicated with students and handed the academy a certificate for the acquisition of a multimedia complex.

“Next year the academy will celebrate its anniversary – 80 years. On your shoulders lies a huge responsibility not to let down comrades who have given their lives, and those who continue to fight. And of course, not to let down your curator, our country’s chief builder – Marat Shakirzyanovich Khusnullin, thanks to whom you became a branch of one of the most prestigious construction universities in Russia – Moscow State University of Civil Engineering. This means that the most modern technologies will be available to you.”– noted the vice-premier.

DONBAS is training professionals for the construction sector. For example, academy students are developing design projects to transform schools in Donbass, many have already undergone internships and are gaining experience, including in Moscow. The academy is working on improving infrastructure: in March, large-scale renovation work began, and by 2027, eight facilities will be restored.

Andrey Chertkov, the Chairman of the Government of the Donetsk People’s Republic, took part in the visit.

“Creating conditions for the comprehensive development of youth is the most important task of the regional government. This includes not only modern educational institutions, but also career guidance programs, real production internships, and employment prospects. We are working on this in close contact with the federal government, employers, and investors. Those who are currently studying at DONNASA will have to help restore Donbass in the coming years. And I really hope that these young people will connect their future fate with their homeland,” said Andrey Chertkov.

In Volnovakha, Dmitry Chernyshenko familiarized himself with the work of the Volnovakha technological technicum, which trains future specialists in seven specialties related to construction, automobiles, agriculture, and IT. In the “Agriculture” sector, since last year, a cluster of the federal project “Professionalism” of the national project “Youth and Children” has been operating there. In addition to educational organizations, employers such as the Mariupol poultry farm and the branch of “Kubanprodex” are involved in this cluster. At the conclusion, the vice-premier presented a certificate for 1 million rubles for the purchase of textbooks and educational-methodical materials.

Also, the Deputy Prime Minister visited the Transfiguration Cathedral, where he held a working meeting with Metropolitan Vladimir of Donetsk and Mariupol.
