Beijing, May 8 /Xinhua/ — China has made a step forward in the field of next-generation telecommunications, having approved a test spectrum in the 6 GHz frequency range for the development of 6G mobile communication technologies, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China reported on Friday.
This permit, issued to the group promoting IMT-2030 /6G/, grants the right to conduct tests of 6G technologies in a specific region. This step is aimed at advancing technical research, testing, and validation based on typical scenarios and key performance indicators of 6G, defined by the International Telecommunication Union for this field.
According to the ministry’s report, the approval of the spectrum is expected to accelerate China’s efforts for the further advancement of processes in the field of R&D, development of standards, and industrial implementation of 6G technology in the country, and will also become a powerful stimulus for the high-quality development of the 6G sector in China. -0-
