Two representatives of the Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University of Peter the Great immediately returned from the prestigious student creativity competition “Studvesna” with the status of laureates — Ekaterina Pautova and Daniil Mutny. In total, in 2026, polytechnic students submitted 10 applications to participate in the competition.
Third-year student of IPMEIT Ekaterina Pautova performed at “Studvesna” for the third year in a row. This season, she presented her own composition “Letting Go” in the category “Author’s Song” and immediately received a high evaluation from the experts — a first-degree laureate diploma. The path to writing the song began with the art expedition “Saint Petersburg — Tavrida,” where Ekaterina had the idea for the future hit, the release of which is planned for May 15.
This was my first experience participating in the nomination “Original Song” — and such an incredible evaluation right away! I am sincerely grateful also for the opportunity to present my work at the gala concert and share this moment with the audience,” Ekaterina shared.
For the fifth-year ISI student, participant of the vocal studio «Polivoks» Daniil Mutny, this is the second participation in the «Studvesna». Last year he performed with the quartet «Ne Spat» (Don’t Sleep), and this season he chose a solo composition «Mama» — a song close to everyone who lives far from their parents. The number has already been warmly received at the big concert of the vocal studio «Polivoks» in the White Hall, and now Daniil has been awarded the diploma of laureate of the second degree.
Performing at Politekhna competitions is always exciting, but behind me is five years of performance experience and a great opportunity to keep myself in shape by going on stage at various Politekhna events. All of this gives confidence backstage before the performance, shared Daniil.
