Washington, May 7 /Xinhua/ — American forces struck Iranian military targets on Thursday, confirmed the United States Central Command (CENTCOM).

American military “eliminated / those posing threats from Iran’s side/ and targeted Iranian military sites responsible for the attack on American forces, including missile and drone launch sites, command and control centers, as well as reconnaissance and observation nodes,” the statement says.

“Not a single American target was hit,” the command said, adding that they are not seeking escalation.

Tehran accused the USA of violating the ceasefire regime after American forces attacked two Iranian vessels near the Strait of Hormuz and simultaneously carried out airstrikes on civilian areas in the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan and on the island of Qeshm in cooperation with some regional states.
