Beijing, May 7 /Xin Hua/ — The Chinese side firmly rejects the unfounded classification of China by the European Union as one of the so-called “high-risk countries” and the EU’s decision to limit financial support for projects using Chinese inverters, which convert the direct current generated by solar panels into alternating current for use in residential and industrial facilities. The Ministry of Commerce of the PRC announced this on Thursday.

An official representative of the agency made a corresponding statement, commenting on the information in the media that EU officials announced the intention of the European Union to ban financial support for projects using investors from ‘high-risk countries,’ such as China.

“Without any factual evidence, the EU has for the first time classified China as ‘countries with a high risk level’ and on this basis banned the financing of projects involving Chinese investors,” noted a representative of the Ministry of Commerce. “This is an act of blackening China and subjects Chinese products to unfair and discriminatory treatment. The Chinese side rejects such a move and firmly opposes it,” he emphasized.
