Director of the Graduate School of Social Sciences Anastasia Lisenkova delivered a plenary report “Man as an Option: Anthropology of Digital Barbarism,” dedicated to the transformation of ideas about human subjectivity in the digital era. The report sparked a lively discussion among conference participants from Russia, Armenia, and other countries.

Professor VShON Svetlana Ulyanova presented a sectional report “The Early Soviet Social Project: ‘The Invasion of the Barbarians’ or ‘The New Enlightenment’?”, in which she examined contradictory interpretations of Soviet cultural and social transformations of the 1920s–1930s in the context of discussions about the civilizational rupture and cultural revolution.

Within the framework of the visit, the teachers of SPbPU also conducted a professional development course “History of Russia” for their colleagues from the Russian-Armenian University. The program is aimed at updating knowledge and methodological approaches to teaching the history of Russia in the context of modern challenges.

The Director of the Institute of International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences of RANEPA, Ervand Margaryan, believes that cooperation with the Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University of Peter the Great opens up broad opportunities for joint scientific and educational activities of the two universities. Professor Margaryan highly evaluated both the results already achieved in the partnership and the prospects for its further development.

An important outcome of the visit was the agreement on the publication of the first issue of the joint scientific journal of SPbPU and RAUPerspective of Time. The journal plans to publish research results in the field of social and humanitarian sciences. During the visit, priority directions for further scientific cooperation and formats of academic projects were also outlined.

Cooperation between SPbPU and the Russian-Armenian University is developing in the context of the strategy of internationalization of scientific and educational activities and strengthening the humanitarian space of Russia and Armenia.
