Beijing, May 5 /Xinhua/ — China calls on the United States to immediately end the blockade and lift sanctions against Cuba, as well as to refrain from any form of coercion and pressure, declared the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China on Tuesday.
Thus, the Chinese diplomat commented, at the request of journalists, on the US decision to tighten sanctions against Cuba, as well as the statement from the Cuban side that the illegal unilateral coercive measures of the US are prejudicial and absurd.
The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the unilateral intensification of illegal sanctions against Cuba by the United States seriously infringes on the Cuban people’s right to existence and development, as well as grossly violates the basic norms of international relations.
China firmly supports Cuba in protecting its state sovereignty and security and resolutely opposes interference in Cuba’s internal affairs, added the official representative of the Chinese foreign affairs department. -0-
