Tehran, May 4 /Xin Hua/ — The Iranian semi-official news agency Tasnim on Monday denied the statement by American military personnel that they had sunk several Iranian combat boats.
The agency noted that the claim about the sinking of boats was refuted by a high-ranking Iranian military official. Earlier, the head of the United States Central Command, Brad Cooper, told journalists that American military personnel on Monday “blew up” six Iranian boats in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to CNN, B. Cooper clarified that the Iranian boats were attacked by American Apache and SH-60 Seahawk helicopters after Iran launched “numerous cruise missiles, drones, and boats” towards American warships and commercial vessels, which were “under the protection” of the US military. –0–
