Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a working meeting with the governor of the Pskov region, Mikhail Vedernikov. The main topics were the development of the agro-industrial complex and rural areas, as well as ensuring the ecological well-being of the region.
Pskov Oblast ranks fourth in the Northwestern Federal District for grain production, and second for rapeseed. Currently, Pskov farmers are preparing for spring fieldwork. The sowing area this year will increase and exceed 200 thousand hectares. For this year’s harvest, winter cereals occupy an area of about 25 thousand hectares, and winter rapeseed – almost 4 thousand hectares. Dmitry Patrushev emphasized that during this period, farmers must be provided with all the necessary material and technical resources.
In the Pskov region, a program for the comprehensive development of rural territories is being implemented. Thanks to it, the children’s art school in Pushkinskiye Gory was repaired, as well as the veterinary station, transportation was acquired, treatment facilities in Porechye and the road in Velikoluksky district were reconstructed. In addition, six more projects for the improvement of rural territories have been carried out. Work continues on a number of facilities.
Separately, at the meeting, the issue of implementing the national project “Ecological Well-being” in the region was discussed. This year, the supply of new firefighting equipment will continue, and it is also planned to increase the number of video surveillance cameras for monitoring fire hazards in the forest. In addition, this year, the establishment of the first state nursery for growing seedlings in the region is planned in the Novorzhevsky district.
