Students of SPbGASU Won the Applied Mechanics Olympiad

Students of the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering successfully participated in the All-Russian Student Olympiad on Applied Mechanics with international participation. As a result of the competition, one team from the university won first place, and another won bronze medals.

The Olympiad was held at the base of the Advanced Engineering School “Digital Engineering” of the Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University of Peter the Great with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, the Association of Technical Universities, and the Federal Educational and Methodological Association in the direction of “Mechanical Engineering.” The competition included 23 teams from 19 universities of Russia and neighboring countries, and the total number of participants exceeded 100 people.

The first place was taken by the team from the construction faculty of SPbGASU. It includedDaniil Karpov, Anastasia Prokofyeva, Darya AlekseevaиViktor Tisonov.The head of the team was an associate professor of the Department of Structural MechanicsNadezhda Ostrovskaya.

Within the main program, participants solved six tasks: three on theoretical mechanics and three on materials resistance. In addition, students took part in additional events, including engineering competitions and excursions to leading enterprises in Petersburg.

The Olympiad became not only a platform for demonstrating engineering knowledge and skills, but also an important space for exchanging experience, establishing professional contacts, and strengthening interaction between students, teachers, and industry representatives.
