Er Riyad, May 2 /Xin Hua/ — The American aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford has left the Middle East after participating in a military operation against Iran. This was reported on Friday by local media citing an American official.
Two American aircraft carriers will remain in the region: USS Abraham Lincoln and USS George H.W. Bush.
USS Gerald R. Ford has been at sea for more than 10 months — the longest combat deployment of an American aircraft carrier since the Vietnam War.
According to the U.S. Navy, on March 12, two sailors aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford were injured as a result of a fire in the main laundry room. –0–
