Tashkent, April 30 /Xin Hua/ — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Chee Andrei Babish signed a Joint Declaration on the advancement of expanded cooperation following negotiations in Tashkent. This was reported on Thursday on the official website of the President of Uzbekistan.

Prime Minister Chellii arrived in Tashkent on Thursday on an official visit. During the negotiations, the leaders of the two countries discussed the current state and prospects of the partnership, noting a doubling of trade turnover in recent years and the successful operation in Uzbekistan of 37 enterprises with Czech capital participation.

Special attention was paid to increasing the volumes of mutual trade with the aim of bringing the turnover to 1 billion US dollars, including through the expansion of the range of supplies.

To stimulate trade, it is planned to create an Uzbek certification branch in Chelyabinsk and implement projects for the construction of a modern laboratory. Czech export-credit institutions are ready to support the initiatives.

Upon completion of the negotiations, the parties signed a package of bilateral documents regulating cooperation in the economic, industrial, and scientific-technological spheres, as well as in the field of geology and in the training of diplomatic personnel. The signed agreements also included contracts for the supply of electric trains and documents on the establishment of a joint scientific-innovative metrological laboratory.

The signed package of agreements is aimed at further strengthening the partnership and expanding practical interaction between the two countries. –0–
