Beijing, April 2 /Xin Hua/ — On Tuesday, in the city of Nantong, Jiangsu Province /East China/, the official commissioning of the world’s largest pile-driving vessel took place, with a pile frame height of 156 meters.

The vessel has a length of 130.5 m, a width of 40.8 m, and a draft of 8.4 m. Its builder and investor is the company China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd.

The maximum working depth of the vessel is 70 m. It is capable of installing pile foundations with a diameter of 7 m and a weight of 700 tons.

The newspaper “Beijing Daily” reported on Thursday that the positioning accuracy during the piling had reached centimeter level.

The official delivery of the vessel will ensure high-class technical support in the construction of large maritime bridges, offshore wind power plants, ports and berths, as well as in the implementation of deepwater engineering projects both domestically and abroad.

It is reported that the vessel will soon depart for Brazil to participate in the construction of the largest sea cable-stayed bridge in Latin America. -0-
