Beijing, April 29 /Xin Hua/ — From the city of Suifenhe /Heilongjiang Province, Northeast China/, located on the border of the PRC and the Russian Federation, the second direct freight train will soon depart to Moscow in 2026, according to a statement published on Wednesday on the official website of the Suifenhe city government.

This train, loaded with 55 containers, mainly transports auto parts, plastic products, and household appliances. The total weight of the cargo is about 1,300 tons, and its value reaches 18 million yuan (about 2.62 million USD). It is expected that the train will arrive in Moscow in 15-20 days.

The chairman of the board of the trade and economic company “Syunfei” of the city of Suifenhe, Din Syaoshen, reported that in May of this year three freight trains are planned to be sent from Suifenhe to Moscow, and from June, four freight trains will run monthly in both directions on this route.

According to him, at present, goods are being collected in Suifenhe from various regions of the country, and in the future, a further increase in the number of freight train shipments along the Suifenhe-Moscow route is expected.

The dispatch of the second freight train this year from Suifenhe to Moscow represents a key step in establishing freight train movement along this route on a permanent basis and will give a new impetus to the deepening of Chinese-Russian trade and economic cooperation, as well as ensuring the uninterrupted openness of the China channel in the northern direction, according to a message from the Suifenhe mayor’s office.
