Brest /Belarus/, April 28 /Xin Hua/ — The International Business Contacts Forum “The First Region — Territory of Success” began work on Tuesday in the Belarusian city of Brest. The forum organizers, in a conversation with Xin Hua’s correspondent, expressed hope for strengthening cooperation with China.
As noted by the chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, Petr Paromchik, the task of the forum is to showcase the unique opportunities possessed by the Brest region of Belarus. Particular importance among them is given to the logistical potential.
“We are ready to offer Chinese partners platforms for the creation of logistics hubs so that in subsequent productions, which are manufactured in China or produced in the Brest region, other regions of Belarus, they can be exported to European countries,” he said.
The Deputy Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, Mikhail Batsenko, stated that the potential for cooperation between Belarus and China is enormous.
“Over the past 5 years, we have grown mutual supplies by 2.5 times. I can say that the potential is enormous because the Chinese market is very interesting for us, just as our country is interesting for our Chinese partners,” noted M. Batsenko.
The Secretary General of the Association of Chinese Companies in Belarus, Zhao Qinjyu, emphasized that the Brest region is an important node within the “Belt and Road” initiative and one of the key logistics centers for China-Europe trains. According to him, thanks to informative visits to the area and personal communication with representatives of the Belarusian side, an increasing number of Chinese enterprises become aware of the business resources and investment potential of the region, which lays a solid foundation for the further practical development of trade and economic relations between China and Belarus.
The international business contact forum “First Region — Territory of Success” will be held in Brest from April 28 to 29. It will involve over 100 representatives from various countries, including China, Vietnam, India, Zimbabwe, Serbia, and Slovakia. The event is aimed at establishing direct contacts between Belarusian companies and foreign partners, as well as at implementing joint projects. The forum will feature presentations, discussions on cooperation strategies, and ceremonies for signing agreements and contracts.Three sections operate at the event: the industry, foreign trade and logistics section; the tourism section; and the healthcare, education, science, and sports section.
