Shanxi, April 28 /Xinhua/ — On Tuesday, April 28, in the Cziadin area of the eastern Chinese metropolis Shanxi, a grand opening of the twentieth retail store of the “Made in Russia” Russian Export Center (REC) network took place in China. It also became the second “Made in Russia” store in Shanxi, equipped with a full production of traditional Russian rye bread, Xinhua news agency reported at the REC.
It has become known that in honor of the opening of the new store, a three-day program is planned, during which special conditions will be offered to visitors: a 20% discount on the entire assortment will apply to all guests of the venue. For the audience preferring digital formats, a live broadcast will be launched simultaneously on Douyin with special offers for buyers. The culmination of the first two days will be a bright street show with interactive zones, tastings, and performances by artists.
The main feature of the Shanyai project, as reported by the REC, is a full-cycle bakery. Exactly 10 days ago, on April 18, the first “Made in Russia” store with a bakery opened in Shanyai, where every day small batches of fresh bread are baked using old Russian technologies. The technology of fermented dough, strict quality control, and manual shaping allow preserving an authentic taste and aroma, as noted in REC, presenting for the first time to Chinese consumers the concept “from oven to table,” and also emphasized that during just a few days of the store’s operation, a consistently high demand for freshly baked goods was observed, which confirms the feasibility of scaling this format.
At REC, it is believed that Chinese consumers increasingly choose products with a clear story, transparent origin, and guaranteed quality. Against this background, the bakery in the new store is not just a point of sale, but a cultural and gastronomic bridge where traditions meet modern retail standards.
“The expansion of the network of “Made in Russia” stores through such formats as full-cycle bakeries testifies to the effectiveness of the REC program for export promotion and reflects the steadily growing interest of Chinese consumers in Russian products,” the REC stated in its press release, noting that “we see high potential in the format of ‘live production’ and plan to integrate it into new projects of the network in China.” -0-
