Dubai, April 28 /Sina/ — The United Arab Emirates on Tuesday announced their withdrawal from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the wider OPEC+ alliance starting May 1, 2026. This was reported by the Emirati news agency /WAM/.
As the agency noted, this decision reflects the long-term strategic and economic vision of the UAE, as well as the changing energy profile of the country, including accelerated investments in the development of domestic energy production, and strengthens the UAE’s commitment to a responsible, reliable, and promising role in the global energy market.
