Beirut, April 27 /Sina/ — The leader of the “Hezbollah” movement, Naeem Qassem, said on Monday that the movement categorically rejects direct negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, noting that any results of such negotiations have no significance for “Hezbollah.”

“We categorically reject direct negotiations,” said N. Kasem in his statement, adding that these negotiations and their results “in no way concern us.” He also accused the Lebanese authorities of making humiliating and unnecessary concessions, acting against the interests of the Lebanese people.

The leader of “Hezbollah” outlined five conditions which, according to the movement’s opinion, are the only acceptable way forward: cessation of Israel’s strikes on land, sea, and air, withdrawal of Israeli troops from the occupied territories, release of prisoners, ensuring the return of forcibly displaced residents to their settlements and restoration.

N. Qassem stated that “Hezbollah” will not lay down its arms, and promised that Israel will not remain in any part of the occupied Lebanese territory. At the same time, he pointed out that the movement will not return to the situation that existed before March 2.

On March 2, Hezbollah announced the launch of rockets from southern Lebanon towards Israel, which became the first such attack since the declaration of a ceasefire between the two sides in November 2024. The Jewish state responded with air strikes on Beirut, its southern suburbs, and other areas of Lebanon. –0–
