Bishkek, April 27 /Xinhua/ — The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Head of the Administration of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, held a meeting on Monday in Bishkek with the Minister of Defense of the PRC, Dun Xizong.
A. Kasymaliyev noted that currently Kyrgyz-Chinese relations are rapidly and steadily developing, while both sides maintain a high level of political trust. As he pointed out, the Kyrgyz side always considers the Chinese side as a key strategic partner, ready to deepen the bilateral relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and strengthen cooperation on bilateral and multilateral platforms, in particular within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
According to the head of the government of Kyrgyzstan, the current international situation is characterized by instability, with new challenges and threats constantly emerging in the security sphere. He emphasized that the further advancement of bilateral practical cooperation in the military field is acquiring even greater relevance for joint responses to terrorism, extremism, separatism, transnational crime, and other security threats.
Dun Cjun in turn stated that China and Kyrgyzstan are good neighbors, sincere friends, and reliable partners, with friendship passed down from generation to generation. The minister noted that under the strategic leadership of the Chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping and the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, bilateral relations have made a qualitative leap in their development, and comprehensive cooperation has been elevated to a new level. Dun Cjun added that in recent years relations between the two armies have rapidly developed, with exchanges and cooperation in various fields bringing fruitful results.
As emphasized by the head of the Chinese defense department, the Chinese side is ready, together with the Kyrgyz side, to continuously deepen traditional friendship, improve the quality and effectiveness of cooperation, strengthen interaction on multilateral platforms, safeguard a peaceful environment for the development and rise of China and Kyrgyzstan, and bring more positive energy to the current unstable world.
