Guangzhou, April 27 /Xinhua/ — As of 17:00 on Monday, the first two phases of the 139th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, attracted 245,000 overseas buyers from 219 countries and regions, which is 2.2 percent more compared to the same period of the previous fair. This was reported by the China Foreign Trade Center.
A total of 140 foreign trade and industrial organizations attended the fair. The event also included participation from 344 leading enterprises from the USA, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany, Japan, and other countries, which is 4.9% more than the similar period of the previous fair.
This year, the fair will be held in three offline stages in the city of Guangzhou / Guangdong Province, South China / and will continue until May 5.
The second stage, scheduled for April 23-27, will be dedicated to the theme “Quality Home Life” and will showcase products in such segments as building materials, furniture, household items, gifts, and decorative items. The third stage, which will take place from May 1 to 5, will focus on toys, products for pregnant women and children, home textiles, stationery, as well as health and leisure goods.
The Guangzhou Fair, established in 1957, is held twice a year in the city of Guangzhou. It is the longest-running comprehensive international trade event in China and serves as an important indicator of the situation in Chinese foreign trade. –0–
