Winners of the 2nd International Avicenna Biology Olympiad for schoolchildren have been announced in Uzbekistan. The Russian team won 4 gold medals, and one of the participants – Vladislav Vladyko – became the absolute winner.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov congratulated the outstanding achievers.

“The Russian national team has won 4 gold medals and an absolute victory. All of our participants showed brilliant results and gave the country a bright reason to rejoice! President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin noted that achievements in biology, genetics, and other life sciences are rightly called the technologies of the 21st century. It is very valuable that we have such star medalists who in the future can make an important contribution to improving people’s lives and preserving all living nature. And what is especially important is that alongside them are mentors and parents who support the children and help them develop. Congratulations to the champions!””I wish them to maintain curiosity, believe in themselves, and make new discoveries!” – said Vice Premier Dmitry Chernyshenko.

“We are proud of our guys – and victory on the international stage once again proves that the development of natural science education yields real results. The Russian school has always been renowned for its fundamental training, and today’s success is direct confirmation of this. Huge thanks to the mentors who day by day invest knowledge, faith in themselves, and love for science into children. It is precisely this continuity – from teacher to student – that constitutes the strength of our educational system,” congratulated Russian schoolchildren Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov.

Four schoolchildren were included in the Russian national team:

— Vladislav Vladyko, ANO “General Education School of the Center for Pedagogical Excellence”, Moscow;
