Almaty, April 25 /Xin Hua/ — On Saturday, a festive performance was held at the Schoolchildren’s House of the city of Almaty in honor of the World Day of Taijiquan and Qigong.
More than 30 students of Chinese Tai Chi gymnastics, aged from 8 to 75, demonstrated their art in this discipline.
“Many in their youth choose more intense and forceful types of sports. But with age, for example by 45 years, people begin to seek more harmonious systems. And Tai Chi, in my opinion, is ideal for this: it gradually and gently restores a person’s internal resources, strengthens their strength, and contributes to longevity,” says the head of the Wushu section, member of the Almaty Wushu Federation, Andrey Kovalev.
“I like that I can express my emotions. I have become calmer, my physical condition has improved… I think both this and the other are important. The basics of the technique initially include combat elements, but in the spiritual plane it is also strongly developed. It becomes easier, an inner balance appears,” shared 16-year-old Tai Chi student Ansar Bastiyarov. –0–
