Beijing, April 25 /Xin Hua/ — The Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on green and sustainable development will be held from April 28 to 30 in the city of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province (East China), organizers of the event announced.

The forum titled “Implementation of the Initiative on Global Governance and Joint Promotion of Green and Sustainable Development of the SCO” is aimed at advancing practical cooperation in the field of green and sustainable development among SCO countries and facilitating green and low-carbon transformation in the region.

More than 300 people will participate in the forum.Among us are high-ranking representatives of competent environmental agencies of China and foreign countries, entrepreneurs, experts, and scientists, as well as representatives of international organizations who will exchange views on such issues as facilitating just transformations through global climate governance, green transformation and sustainable industrial development, policy and practical experience of SCO countries in the field of environmental protection, as well as promoting energy transformation with the help of green technologies and facilitating green development through industrial cooperation.

Within the framework of the forum, the Ninh Binh initiative on cooperation in the field of sustainable development of the SCO will also be published.

The organizers of the forum are jointly the Chinese SCO Committee on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the PRC, and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province.
