Beijing, April 25 /Xinhua/ — Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Zhao Leji on Saturday sent a congratulatory message to the Chairman of the National Assembly of Laos Sayasone Phomvihane on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Laos.

Chao Lezzi noted that the legislative bodies of the two countries maintain close contacts, contributing significantly to achievements in the development of socialist democracy and the rule of law in their countries.

He expressed readiness, together with Saisomphone Fomvihan, to continue the traditional friendship, deepen exchanges and cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries, as well as to promote the formation of the Chinese-Laos community with a shared destiny.

On the same day, the chairman of the All-China Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Wan Xuning, sent a congratulatory message to the chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao National Construction Front, Sinlavong Khoutphaitounu, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Wang Yi, also sent a congratulatory message to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith. –0–
