Jerusalem, April 24 /Xinhua/ — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Friday that he was diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer after a planned surgery in 2024, adding that he was completely cured without any consequences.
According to the annual health report of the Prime Minister, published by his office, in December 2024 B. Netanyahu postponed surgery due to a benign enlargement of the prostate gland. During subsequent examinations, a small malignant area “less than one centimeter in size” was detected at an early stage without signs of spreading.
The Prime Minister noted that treatment had taken place and the tumor has completely disappeared.
“I am healthy,” wrote B. Netanyahu on the social network X, indicating that he is in “excellent physical shape.”
According to B. Netanyahu, doctors offered him two options — continued observation or intensive treatment, and he decided to act immediately.
The Israeli Prime Minister also explained that he asked to postpone the publication of the report for two months so as not to give the Iranian government the opportunity to use this information for so-called “false propaganda” in the context of the ongoing conflict.
