Moscow, April 24 /Xin Hua/ — Iran has considered exemptions for a number of countries, including Russia, regarding the collection of duties for transit through the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported to RIA Novosti on Friday by Iran’s ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali.
“At the moment, we have envisaged exceptions for some countries regarding what will happen in the future—I don’t know. However, at the moment, our Ministry of Foreign Affairs is trying to apply the exceptions prescribed for friendly countries, such as Russia,” the spokesperson said, responding to the relevant question.
On the eve, it became known that Iran received the first payment from the fees for the passage of ships through the strait.
