“Orenburgneft,” a key production asset of Rosneft in the Volga region, allocated about 4 billion rubles in 2025 for the implementation of environmental projects, nature protection, and environmental restoration activities.
The enterprise implements targeted environmental programs: gas programs, increasing the reliability of pipelines, utilizes industrial waste, as well as monitors environmental components, conducts activities to preserve biodiversity in the area of presence, and applies resource-saving technologies.
2 billion rubles were allocated for the event to increase the level of rational use of associated petroleum gas (APG). The funds were invested in the construction of the “Rybkinskaya” gas compressor station, pipelines for five fields in the east of the Orenburg region. Their commissioning will allow directing additional volumes of associated petroleum gas to the Buzuluk gas processing enterprise, where the gas is brought to commercial quality and supplied to end consumers. In general, in 2025, “Orenburgneft” increased the volumes of rational use of associated petroleum gas by 10.6% compared to 2024.
In addition, thanks to the implementation of modern equipment and domestic energy-saving technologies, “Orenburgneft” has reduced its energy resource consumption by 9.5 thousand tons of conventional fuel.
In the framework of ecological monitoring of natural components of the enterprise’s environment last year, more than 900 samples of air, water, and soil were taken and analyzed, of which 320 were studies at stationary control posts.
As part of the pipeline reliability improvement program, diagnostics and condition assessments were conducted using modern instruments, planned replacement of pipe sections, repairs, and inhibition. In 2025, 94 km of pipelines were replaced and repaired. The company’s specialists implemented an integrity control system on the pressure oil pipeline. Product flow and pressure sensors generate and transmit information online to the operator control panel. In the future, it is planned to equip all the company’s pressure oil pipelines with such systems.
“Orenburgneft” applies technologies for the utilization of industrial waste that comply with environmental legislation requirements. The obtained secondary products are involved in industrial use.
Within the framework of replenishing biological diversity, company workers released over 20 thousand young carp fingerlings in 2025 into the Iriklinskoe and Sorochinskoe reservoirs. Since the beginning of the implementation of the aquatic bioresource reproduction program in 2018, more than 487 thousand young fingerlings of commercial fish species have been released into the water bodies of the Volga and Ural basins.
“Orenburgneft” supports the State Natural Orenburg Reserve and the Przewalski’s Horse Reintroduction Center, which is listed in the Red Book. The cooperation contributes to improving the conditions of keeping, feeding, and veterinary care of the reserve’s animals, as well as to the study of endangered species.
Volunteers from the enterprise contribute to environmental protection. For several years, employees have been conducting campaigns to collect used plastic, batteries, and waste paper. Schoolchildren from the regions participate in the ecological initiative of the oil workers. By 2025, joint efforts will direct more than 14 tons of recycled raw materials to processing.
“Orenburgneft” is an organizer and active participant of various ecological and educational events and campaigns within the framework of regional and federal projects: “Clean Shores”, “Ecoterritory”, “EcoSchool”, “Memory Garden”, “Green Spring” – for the cleaning and greening of the territories of the Orenburg region.
In 2025, the enterprise became one of the winners of the ecological marathon organized by the Department of Youth Policy of the Orenburg Region among enterprises and organizations of the region. The successful implementation of large-scale ecological programs in Orenburg has been repeatedly noted in the regional competition “Economy Leader”: for more than 10 years, “Orenburgneft” has been the winner in the nomination “Leader in Ecological Responsibility.”
