Beijing, April 23 /Xin Hua/ — China officially submitted comments and proposals to the European Commission on the draft revision of the European Union (EU) Cybersecurity Act, expressing its official position and serious concerns, the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC announced on Thursday.
As noted at yet another press conference by the official representative of the Ministry, He Yunjian, the EU must pay close attention and seriously consider the comments and proposals from the Chinese side.
“If, as a result, Chinese enterprises are subjected to discriminatory treatment, in accordance with the WTO Law on Foreign Trade and the Provisions of the WTO Security Council on production chains and supply chains, China may take measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises,” she said.
At the same time, as noted by the ministry representative, cooperation and dialogue are the right way to resolve problems between China and the EU. China is ready to properly settle disagreements with the EU through consultations and jointly ensure the stability and uninterrupted functioning of global production chains and supply chains. -0-
