Washington, April 22 /Xinhuanet/ — The economic policy of the US president is becoming a serious political burden, as a number of recent polls indicate a decline in his popularity against the background of rising inflation, high gasoline prices, and the economic consequences of the war with Iran.
According to the results of a new survey by the Associated Press and NORC, D. Trump’s approval rating is 33%, down from 38% in March and reaching a new low during his second presidential term. A separate Reuters/Ipsos survey conducted over six days showed that only 36% of Americans approve of his work.
According to other polls, D. Trump’s rating ranges from 35 to 40 percent, while CNN’s aggregate rating shows an average disapproval level of 62 percent.
Analysts note that the drop in ratings reflects broad dissatisfaction with both internal and external policy. About two-thirds of Americans currently disapprove of D. Trump’s actions regarding the war with Iran, which almost corresponds to the level of public dissatisfaction with inflation.
The conflict also alienated some former supporters of D. Trump, including veterans who supported the president because of his previous promises not to engage in foreign wars. –0–
