The 5th All-Russian Youth Scientific and Practical Conference “Humanitarian Forum in Political Science” was held at SPbPU, organized by the Humanitarian Institute. It gathered more than 500 participants from 55 universities of Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. The conference discussed current issues in the fields of linguistics, international relations, pedagogy, psychology, jurisprudence, social communications, publishing, and youth policy.

Participants were expecting sectional meetings, scientific and interactive platforms, discussions, master classes, and business games. The new event formats sparked great interest: aquarium, pitch session, and pecha-kucha (a format of short presentations that assumes strict time and structure limits of the performance).

At the plenary session “Living and Creating in Russia,” experts discussed the key competencies of the future: from the transformation of the Russian language in the digital environment and the historical lessons of Soviet university design to cognitive traps in the interaction between humans and artificial intelligence.

At the forum, they also organized a School of Digital Linguistics — a two-day intensive course for those interested in modern approaches to language learning. The main organizers of the School were representatives from SPbPU, SPbGU, ILI RAN, and BGUA (Minsk).

On the second day of the conference, a panel discussion was held on the topic: “Multifaceted Russia: strength in unity” with the participation of the Vice-Rector for Information, Youth Policy, and Security of SPbPU Maksim Pasholikov and prominent public figures of Saint Petersburg.

During the “Humanitarian Forum in Politichesky,” a round table “Designing the Future: From a School Idea to a Professional Startup” was held for students of grades 10 and 11 of general education institutions No. 498, 342, 527 of the Nevsky district and the Mathematical School “LNMO”.

On the third day of the conference, participants took part in a charitable art master class, the proceeds from which will be directed to aid within the framework of the #WEARETOGETHER campaign and in support of the AdVita Charity Foundation.

The “Humanitarian Forum in Political Science” implements a unique principle of interdisciplinary solidarity on issues of development and progress. The forum is a format of open science in the interest of society.
