Students of the “Rosneft Classes” from Buzuluk became winners of the scientific research project competition for high school students “School Premier League” in Saint Petersburg.

Students from the “Rosneft-class” specialized program in Orenburg presented their works at the competition, 20 of which advanced to the finals. Each project is a full-fledged scientific study, prepared in the format of reports. The projects of Kirill Mezentsev, a 10th-grade student of school No.6 in the city of Buzuluk, and Alexander Vlasov, an 11th-grade student of the same school, became winners. The guys presented independently developed computer simulators for production.

A total of more than 800 scientific research papers from all over the country were submitted for the preliminary stage of the competition. In the final, which took place at the Gorny Institute of Empress Catherine II, more than 300 school students from 39 regions of Russia participated. They presented developments in 17 areas – engineering ecology, Arctic and Antarctic development, mechanical engineering, energy, intellectual mining production, construction, and others.

In his work, Kirill Mezentsev demonstrated the operation of a pipeline remaining resource calculation program that takes into account environmental conditions and the internal state of the pipes. The proposal will allow saving company resources, reducing labor costs, and improving the environmental performance of production.

Alexander Vlasov demonstrated to the competition committee the work of a computer simulator that allows practicing the full algorithm of actions of a well overhaul brigade in a virtual environment. The development will help identify the real level of employees’ competencies during training and improve knowledge and skills in the field of industrial safety.

The “Rosneft – 2030” strategy envisages the implementation of various projects in the field of education and the development of the Company’s human resources potential. “Orenburgneft”, an extraction asset of “Rosneft”, has been supervising specialized classes in the Orenburg region for more than ten years. On a systematic basis, the enterprise improves the material-technical and scientific-educational foundation of schools, equipping them with modern computer technology and digital equipment. Specialists familiarize students with the operation of production facilities through interactive tours and organize meetings with industry experts.
