President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov. Heads of Russian regions and companies also participated in the meeting.
The parties specifically discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the fields of mechanical engineering, chemical industry, mining, oil and gas industry, and energy. Denis Manturov conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to the Head of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
“The negotiation agenda is broad. Shavkat Miromonovich personally pays great attention to all projects and issues that are under his control. Today, once again, we have become convinced that the practice initiated by Shavkat Miromonovich himself, namely closer interaction between the regions of Russia and Uzbekistan, yields serious results. When the governments and regions of the Russian Federation regularly interact, communicate, enterprises form a base here for creating assembly productions which would form added value for the main productions located in Russia.”Uzbekistan is geographically located in such a way that when implementing such projects, it is not only about supplying the Uzbek market, but also excellent logistics for supplies to neighboring countries where markets are also developing. Our enterprises are interested in creating production. The fifth industrial park is already being created in Uzbekistan with the participation of our Russian enterprises. We count on the support of the republic’s leadership and on these projects, which are on the bilateral agenda,” noted Denis Manturov following the results of the negotiations.
In addition, the First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov held negotiations with the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.
