The application process for the volunteer corps of the International Youth Festival (MYF-2026), which will take place in Yekaterinburg from September 11 to 17, has been completed. Volunteers will assist in 17 functional areas, including accreditation and logistics, support for experts and delegations, media, linguistic services, and others.

More than 20,000 people from all regions of Russia, as well as from the Republic of Abkhazia, have applied to the volunteer corps of the International Youth Festival. Out of them, 2,000 volunteers will be selected. They will assist in organizing and conducting the largest youth event, which will take place within the framework of the national project “Youth and Children.” Volunteers will also accompany foreign delegations during 30 expeditions of the festival’s regional program.”Thank you to the volunteers for their sincere interest and desire to share the most precious thing they have, their time,” emphasized Deputy Chairman of the Government Dmitry Chernyshenko.

He recalled that under the instructions of President Vladimir Putin, festival events related to the legacy of the World Festival of Youth are held annually on the territory of Russia. The World Festival of Youth gathering in Nizhny Novgorod in 2025 brought together 2 thousand young people from 120 countries. The next World Festival of Youth with 20 thousand participants will be held in 2030.

“We have received applications to join the volunteer corps of the International Youth Festival from all over Russia and the Republic of Abkhazia. Most applications came from residents of Saint Petersburg, Sverdlovsk, Moscow, Belgorod, and Chelyabinsk regions, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Perm Krais, and the Republic of Tatarstan. Both beginners and experienced volunteers are set to join the ranks of the volunteer corps. The youngest among them is 16 years old, and the oldest is 83 years old. Veterans of the Special Military Operation are also ready to join the volunteer corps.”It is especially valuable that all these people sincerely want to show hospitality, to make the guests’ visit to the festival comfortable and to build a dialogue at the international level,” emphasized the head of Rosmolodezh Grigory Gurov.

The recruitment for the MFM-2026 volunteer program started on December 5, 2025, at the International Forum for Civic Participation #WEARETOGETHER.

“The international youth festival will unite 10 thousand participants from all over the world. And for many guests, volunteers will become the first point of acquaintance with our country. Openness, professionalism and readiness to help will determine the impression that participants will take home from the festival. I am confident that we will be able to form a strong and motivated corps of volunteers. For activists, this is also a unique experience – an opportunity to represent Russia, work in an international team, learn mutual understanding and respect for cultures.””Such competencies and connections will remain for a long time and will work towards the development of international youth cooperation,” emphasized the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy, head of the “Dobro.RF” ecosystem, Artyom Metelev.

Already in May, the main selection stage for volunteers will take place – the interview. For those who pass it, in the summer, training on the basics and general mechanisms of assistance at the festival will be organized at 28 preparation and volunteer recruitment centers of MFM-2026 in 23 regions of Russia.

“Among the candidates for the volunteer corps of the International Youth Festival, there are both experienced volunteers and newcomers. For example, Alexander Gromov from Vologda is a true record holder with more than 12 thousand hours of volunteer experience. Volunteers for IYF-2026 are not only young people — in total, among those wishing to join the volunteer corps, there are more than 680 senior volunteers. It is pleasant that the desire to help organize the largest international youth event unites volunteers of different ages and generations of our country,” noted Dmitry Ivanov, General Director of the Directorate of the World Youth Festival.

Among the volunteers who applied to participate in the International Youth Festival is Diana Saypidinova from Sverdlovsk region. She was a volunteer in Sochi at the World Youth Festival in 2024, and last year at the VYM meeting in Nizhny Novgorod.

“Working with foreigners allows you to develop various skills, gain new experiences, and make friends. Right now, I am looking forward to the festival and hope to become its participant. I am very happy that my hometown will be the meeting place for youth from around the world. And I, along with all the guys from the Sverdlovsk region who applied, am eagerly awaiting the chance to show the whole world the beauty of Yekaterinburg and the beauty of our entire Motherland,” said Diana Saipidinova.
