The airline Red Wings and the Government of the Kemerovo Region – Kuzbass have signed a cooperation agreement under which they will develop air connections between the region and other cities in Russia. The document was signed by the Governor of the Kemerovo Region – Kuzbass, Ilya Seredyuk, and the acting Deputy General Director for Commercial Activities and Marketing of Red Wings, Vladimir Smolyarchuk.
One of the main objectives of the cooperation is to increase the number of direct flights between Kuzbass, regional centers, and cities with populations over a million. The parties will also work on developing interregional routes that will allow passengers to fly between cities without transferring in Moscow. In particular, this involves opening direct flights from Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk to other Russian cities.
Another area of joint work is the development of domestic and inbound tourism in Kuzbass. Red Wings has been operating a multimodal transportation service for several years, which allows you to purchase a single ticket with a transfer to popular Russian ski resorts, including to Sheregesh via the Novokuznetsk airport.
Red Wings has been connecting Kuzbass with other regions of Russia since 2020. During this time, the airline has operated 3,500 flights, carrying over 270,000 passengers. Just last year, Red Wings’ passenger traffic at the airports of Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk increased by 58% and 15.2% respectively compared to 2024. This year, about 55,000 passengers have used Red Wings’ services. The most popular destination from Kuzbass was Yekaterinburg. Flights to Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, and Chita were also in demand.
