In China, the number of registered UAVs jumped by 51 percent in 2025

Beijing, April 20 /Xinhua/ — The total number of registered unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in China as of the end of 2025 reached nearly 3.29 million units, which is 51 percent more than the previous year. This is evidenced by data published by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

The number of BPLA flight hours will rise to 45.3 million in 2025, which is 69.9% more than in 2024, according to the CAAC statistical bulletin on the development of the civil aviation industry for 2025.

By the end of last year, China counted 65 transport airlines, 4,574 civil aviation transport aircraft, and 5,488 regular route flights.

As for passenger and cargo transportation, in 2025 the volume of passenger transportation in the country’s civil aviation sector exceeded 770 million passenger trips, and the volume of transported cargo and mail shipments amounted to more than 10 million tons. Both indicators turned out to be 5.5% and 13.3% higher in annual terms. Volumes of both passenger and cargo transportation on international routes increased by more than 20%.

By the end of 2025, the mainland part of China had 270 transport airports, which is seven more than the previous year. Among them, the annual passenger traffic of each airport, amounting to 10 million passenger trips or more, reached 41. -0-
