The executives of PJSC NEFAZ, a subsidiary of KAMAZ in Bashkortostan, took part in the test drive of Nefaz equipment.

Among those who took the wheel of modern models of freight and passenger vehicles were the deputy general directors of “NEFAZ”, heads of main and auxiliary production workshops, and department chiefs. The test drive took place at the factory site for running-in and testing the produced equipment. Opening the event, General Director of NEFAZ, Boris Khaziev addressed the gathered leaders. “We work daily on the production of equipment. Everyone in their place contributes to the final result: some directly assemble the equipment in the workshops, others support and manage production, design, purchase, and supply the necessary components. And today, all of you have the wonderful opportunity to personally assess the result of our collective effort.”, he noted.

For testing, samples of equipment reflecting the key production directions of PJSC “NEFAZ” were presented. Among them were the city low-floor bus NEFAZ-5299-40-57, running on compressed natural gas, the suburban bus KAMAZ-5222, the medium-class low-floor bus KAMAZ-4290, the latest generation electric bus A5 KAMAZ-52222, tanker trucks NEFAZ-66052 and NEFAZ-66065, dump trucks KAMAZ-43089, KAMAZ-6595, KAMAZ-65951, and KAMAZ-65959. During the test drives, the leaders completed a full circle within the site territory behind the wheel. They personally assessed the driver’s workplace convenience and safety, handling, maneuverability, and dynamic characteristics of the presented equipment.

“A test drive is not just a demonstration of equipment, it is an important element of production culture, – emphasized Deputy General Director – Development Director Sergey Ladygin. – It allows those responsible for creating machines to experience them in real conditions. It’s one thing to work with drawings or assemble equipment, and quite another when you yourself get behind the wheel of a car.

During the test drive, the managers not only tested the equipment in action but also discussed technical aspects, production and quality issues, and gave their comments and suggestions. After the runs, they shared their impressions of the driving experience and noted the benefits of holding such events.

“The opportunity to personally test equipment of own production under testing ground conditions close to real ones, – it is interesting, informative, and important, – noted Quality Director Roman Kuznetsov. – I personally tried several vehicles, each remembered by its epithets: dump truck – controlled power, electric bus – dynamics, suburban bus – comfortable liner, dump truck on a Kompas chassis – the lightness of a passenger car. Thanks to the event, managers who manage processes daily saw how the decisions made in workshops and design bureaus are manifested in practice, and were able to evaluate the produced equipment from the perspective of a regular consumer. The acquired experience will serve as a basis for future decisions and will help improve the quality of the manufactured equipment.

“A test drive involving leaders is also a way to strengthen the team and boost team spirit. Informal communication brings people closer, helps to more easily find common ground between different departments, and see the shared goal – to create a quality product to be proud of.”, – he summed up Boris Khaziev.
