The themed train will run on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line for six months.
“By the order of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin (https://t.me/mos_sobyanin/22283), we continue to develop cultural and educational projects in city transport. The new thematic train, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theatre Workers of Russia, will introduce passengers to the rich history of domestic theater and outstanding representatives of theatrical art. It will run along the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line. This is especially symbolic because more than 20 theaters and cultural centers are located near its stations. We are actively launching branded transport together with Moscow theaters. This year we launched a train in honor of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. In August, together with Vladimir Lvovich Mashkov, we presented the tram “Metamorphoses of the Oleg Tabakov Theatre,” — noted Maxim Liksutov.
“Today we are launching a themed train dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theatre Workers of Russia, now the Russian Theatre Society. At the recent Congress, our entire society made this decision. This is how we see off the outgoing jubilee year of the Union of Theatre Workers and send the train into a new era – the era of the Russian Theatre Society. Today, our society has 30,000 members and 82 regional branches from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka. Thanks to this train, millions of passengers will get to know our professional community and feel the scale and diversity of the country’s theatrical life,” said the Chairman of the Russian Theatre Society, Vladimir Mashkov.
On October 22, the X (XXIV) Congress took place, after which a decision was made to rename the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation to the Russian Theatre Society.
