Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin visited the Krasnoyarsk Krai on a working trip, where he held a working meeting with the region’s governor, Mikhail Kotyukov. The parties discussed issues of housing construction, development of road and communal infrastructure, renewal of public transport, and implementation of the national project “Infrastructure for Life.” The Deputy Prime Minister also familiarized himself with the progress of construction of the high-speed underground and above-ground light rail transit line in Krasnoyarsk.

“Systematic work on improving infrastructure continues in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Despite difficulties, the region is coping with the tasks set, developing new sites and those that already exist. A number of important projects are being implemented in road management. I note that as of today, 75% of roads are in normative condition—a good indicator, and the existing routes are being expanded. Public transport is being updated. Since 2020, more than 400 units have been delivered to the region. Housing and communal services are being modernized, including through the involvement of infrastructure budget loans. Overall, the Krasnoyarsk Territory is actively participating in improvement projects, and significant work is being done in this area. It is important not to reduce the pace and to ensure the timely implementation of planned activities to create comfortable living conditions for citizens,” said Marat Khusnullin.

One of the objects inspected by the Deputy Prime Minister was the construction of the high-speed underground and above-ground light rail line in Krasnoyarsk. To date, 50% of the entire underground tunneling for the metrotram has been completed, with five shields operating simultaneously in the city. Completion of construction and installation works is planned for the end of 2028.

“The Russian Ministry of Construction adheres to a comprehensive approach to territorial development. Infrastructure is created in alignment with the real needs of people — this is precisely what allows each city to form its own distinctive appearance. Krasnoyarsk Krai actively applies mechanisms of the infrastructure menu to implement projects for the development of the public transport system, including the construction of a metrotram in Krasnoyarsk. In total, more than 970 facilities and activities in the fields of engineering and communal, transport, social, and industrial infrastructure have been implemented across Russia within the framework of infrastructure loans,” noted the First Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Utilities, Alexander Lomakin.

According to the governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Mikhail Kotyukov, work is underway around the clock at all sites, and contractors are increasing the pace.

“Two tunnels are fully completed, and currently the shields are operating under the city center. Each section has its own characteristics, so the engineering solutions are unique: at the future station on Kopylova, the soil is water-saturated, and at the escalator tunnel location it needs to be frozen, while the ‘Valentina’ complex will pass under the Trans-Siberian Railway — special safety structures have been installed there. All works for the anniversary of Krasnoyarsk are being done simultaneously — we are building the metro, upgrading transport, improving public spaces, renovating the historic center, and more,” said Mikhail Kotyukov.
