InYesterday, October 27, on the eve of the third Russia–Africa summit in Moscow, a meeting took place between Sergey Kogogin, CEO of PJSC KAMAZ, and Assimi Goita, President of the transitional period of the Republic of Mali.

During the negotiations, the head of KAMAZ expressed gratitude to the Head of the Republic of Mali, Assimi Goïta, for the trust placed and highly appreciated the prospects of cooperation within the framework of the previously concluded large contract for the supply of vehicles, primarily buses. Sergey Kogogin emphasized that this is not a one-time commercial deal, but joint work for years to come.

“This is the first contract of such a high level in the transport sector between Mali and Russia. And we see in it the beginning of a long and serious joint path. It is fundamentally important for us that our agreement is not limited to a simple equipment delivery. We are talking about a comprehensive partnership model. It concerns trucks, road trains, and buses, as well as spare parts, tools, and maintenance equipment, – noted Sergey Kogogin. – But it is equally important that we are ready to provide support in creating production infrastructure in Mali and its service maintenance: assisting with the construction of a KAMAZ service center, and in the future – an assembly workshop and a vehicle assembly plant. A separate direction is the training and advanced qualification of Malian specialists at KAMAZ sites in Russia. We understand a simple fact: reliable equipment operates effectively when there is service nearby, trained personnel, and long-term support. The CEO of KAMAZ assured that the company and its partners are ready to make every effort on their part to fulfill their obligations on time and with the proper quality.

Recall that in early October 2026, KAMAZ signed a major contract for the supply of vehicles to the Republic of Mali. The ceremony took place in Bamako in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Finance, as well as the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Mali. The contract was concluded under the intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Mali. The deal is intended to expand the transport and logistics potential of the African country, which is especially important to meet the state’s needs in the supply of food and industrial goods.
