Marat Khusnullin held a working meeting with the governor of Altai Krai, Viktor Tomenko.

Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin paid a working visit to the Altai Territory, where he inspected infrastructure facilities and held a working meeting with the region’s governor, Viktor Tomenko. The parties discussed the socio-economic development of the region, as well as work within the framework of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”.

“Altai Krai is a region with serious potential, and we see that it is developing quite well; there is noticeable positive momentum in a number of key areas. Behind each indicator are specific people—their comfort, safety, and confidence in the future—so it is important not to lose momentum and to work toward results. For example, since the beginning of the year, about 756 thousand square meters of housing has been put into operation in the region, which is 9.5% higher than the figure for the same period last year. In addition, 66 cities and villages have been included in the list of key settlements, where almost 70% of the region’s population resides. Six sites with a total area of 1391 hectares have been designated for comprehensive territory development, with implementation having begun within 5 projects. At the same time, in a number of areas, it is necessary to catch up and strengthen work—this is a general task, on the solution of which the sustainable development of the region and the quality of life of the people depend,” noted Marat Khusnullin.

Road infrastructure was also discussed at the meeting. The length of the backbone network in the region is 3,121 km, including 1,032 km of federal and 2,089 km of regional roads, with 70.64% in regulatory condition. In 2026, the supply of 62 buses is planned through a direct subsidy from the Ministry of Transport.

Altai Krai Governor Viktor Tomenko thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for the attention to the region and his support, and informed about the main achievements in the socio-economic development of the krai.

According to the head of the region, Altai Krai fulfills all its obligations and follows a moderate development scenario.

“In terms of road construction volumes, we are fulfilling all the commitments we have according to the national project. By the end of this week, we will have completed one hundred percent of all tasks of this year’s national project,” said Viktor Tomenko.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Altai Territory is actively using mechanisms of the infrastructure menu. With the involvement of IFC funds, 11 infrastructure projects are being implemented in the region. Among the significant facilities are the reconstruction of the section of the Altayskoye – Aya – Biryuzovaya Katun road and the reconstruction of the bypass road around Barnaul with a transport interchange at the intersection with the Zmeinogorsky and Southern routes. In addition, the region has been allocated a limit of treasury infrastructure loans for housing and communal services development amounting to more than 4.4 billion rubles.
