In Russia, consistent work continues on the development of the road network. Thus, in the Moscow region, construction has begun on the second phase of the two-level transport interchange at the intersection of the Central Ring Road and Leningrad Highway. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

“Activities to develop the country’s road framework are among the top priorities of the country’s construction complex. They help achieve strategic goals, as they open new prospects for regions and improve the quality of life for citizens. It is important not only to build new highways but also to increase the capacity of existing roads. Transport interchanges also contribute to this. They separate vehicle flows, allowing drivers to reduce travel time and reach necessary destinations faster. For example, to improve transport accessibility in the Moscow region, construction has begun on the second phase of a two-level transport interchange at the intersection of the Central Ring Road (CKAD) and Leningrad Highway. The project is being implemented in stages. The first phase was completed earlier, and the second phase will include the construction of five exits with a total length of about 2.5 km. The future facility will improve transportation convenience for residents of settlements and enterprises located in the adjacent areas to the CKAD, Leningrad Highway, the M-11 “Neva” expressway, as well as to Pyatnitskoye Highway.”This will make a significant contribution to the dynamic development of the Moscow region. Drivers will be able to effortlessly enter the Central Ring Road both eastbound – towards the Yaroslavl and Dmitrov highways, and westbound – towards the Pyatnitskoye and Volokolamsk highways,” said Marat Khusnullin.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that previously the first phase was implemented as part of the fifth launch complex of the Central Ring Road (TsKAD) and the connecting section between the third and fifth launch complexes of the highway. At that time, work was carried out on the construction of a flyover, as well as the building of two one-way exit overpasses.

According to the chairman of the board of the state company “Avtodor,” Vyacheslav Petushenko, work is currently underway at the site on three off-ramps in the direction of Pyatnitskoye, Dmitrovskoye Highway, and at the intersection with the A-107 highway “Moscow Small Ring.”

“As of today, the removal of the topsoil layer has been completed, currently embankment construction of the roadbed and culverts is underway, drainage ditches are being excavated, and the relocation of engineering communications and the construction of the road foundation are being carried out. It is important to note that in the implementation of any infrastructure projects we pay close attention to ensuring traffic safety. At this site, construction is being conducted taking into account the high traffic load on the Central Ring Road (ЦКАД) and the M-10 “Russia” highway. Therefore, to minimize disruptions to the existing traffic at the intersection of the two highways, a set of construction and organizational solutions is being applied. Their main objective is to maintain throughput capacity. Furthermore, during the construction and installation works, installation of exterior lighting lines on the exits and acceleration/deceleration lanes is planned so that motorists can safely travel at night; installation of barrier fences and other elements is also planned. For the comfort of local residents near the village of Durykino, noise protection screens will be installed.”In addition, local treatment facilities will be installed for the collection, filtration, and purification of storm and meltwater runoff from the road surface. Completion of the work is planned for 2027,” noted Vyacheslav Petushenko.
