Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Siberian Federal District Anatoly Seryshev, and the Governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai Mikhail Kotyukov opened the Krasnoyarsk championship in fidgetal sports and also awarded the winners and prize-winners of the sixth stage of the All-Russian swimming competition “Heroes Cup”.
At the phygital center in Krasnoyarsk, together with the president of the All-Russian Federation of Phygital Sports Nikita Nagorny, they evaluated the infrastructure and opportunities provided to the city’s residents interested in the new direction at the intersection of digital technologies and physical activity, as well as opened the Krasnoyarsk championship in phygital sports in the discipline “Biathlon – tactical shooting.” Participants in the competition were students from Siberian Federal University, colleges, Krasnoyarsk Medical College, and Secondary School No. 21 of Krasnoyarsk.
“In Krasnoyarsk, you are competing in phygital sports, which combine the virtual world and the physical. This format was born thanks to the head of state and has gained great development worldwide. The international movement already includes 126 countries. Research has shown that the combination of the physical world and the virtual enhances cognitive abilities and provides the opportunity to improve your results in life. I wish you success and a good journey,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The Deputy Prime Minister also recalled that in 2024 the first Future Games took place in Kazan, which included the discipline of “Tactical Biathlon.”
The Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Siberian Federal District, Anatoly Seryshev, emphasized that this format demands both high precision and physical endurance from the participants.
“I am convinced that you are a generation that is very lucky. You have an excellent material base for mastering new sports. As citizens of Russia, you will set the vector of development not only in the Siberian Federal District but also on the scale of the country and the world,” said Anatoly Seryshev, addressing those present.
“Just a few years ago, this sport did not exist. Today, phygital has covered the entire world. But we were the first. As the President noted, our country must not only follow trends but also set them. We are proud of the achievements of our compatriots in wrestling, athletics, biathlon, snowboarding, and other disciplines, but we are also ready to support new sports that are gaining popularity,” said Mikhail Kotyukov.
Nikita Nagorny thanked the teams for choosing phygital sports and highlighted the opportunities opening up for them.
The phygital center on Rest Island became the first facility of its kind in the region. It opened in early 2026 based at the Krasnoyarsk Olympic Reserve College thanks to financial support from the Russian Ministry of Sports. Notably, the center is attended by both college students, veterans of the special military operation, and people with disabilities. In particular, during the visit to the phygital center, the students demonstrated to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Presidential Envoy, and the Governor how they train in hockey, basketball, dance, and football.
In addition, at the National Center “Russia” on the Yenisei, Dmitry Chernyshenko, Anatoly Seryshev, and Mikhail Kotyukov awarded medals and cups to the winners and prizewinners of the sixth stage of the All-Russian swimming competition “Heroes Cup” for the prizes of Honored Master of Sports of Russia Andrey Arbuzov.
“It is a great honor for us to participate in the award ceremony for the winners of the Heroes Cup, especially in the category ‘with complete musculoskeletal impairment.’ The guys are real heroes, we are proud of them. They proved their patriotism on the battlefield, defending our ideals, the Motherland, carrying out the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. And now, having been wounded, the winners of the Heroes Cup set an example of selfless service to the Motherland, indomitable spirit, and sportsmanship. They serve as an example to everyone that one must continue to live, fight, and contribute to our great country. Thank you very much, I wish you new victories,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.
While presenting the awards, Anatoly Seryshev noted the special strength of spirit of the participants and the importance of the competitions as a space of equal opportunities.
“Every participant in the competition is already a winner, already a true hero. By your example, you show that the spirit of the Russian person cannot be broken. You have proven that nothing is impossible for you. And you inspire many. This is truly invaluable. You continue to be true defenders of our Fatherland in peaceful times. Thank you very much. Thank you for the opportunity to hold one of the cup stages in Krasnoyarsk. I thank the Government of Russia, the Ministry of Sports, the ‘Defenders of the Fatherland’ foundation, the Russian Water Sports Federation, the Russian Sports Fund, and, of course, our compatriot and the ideological inspirer of the competition, Andrey Arbuzov. We will always support such projects,” said Mikhail Kotyukov.
About 100 combat veterans from 36 regions of Russia and the Republic of Belarus participated in the Heroes Cup. The competition aims to develop adaptive sports, physical and social rehabilitation of participants, as well as promote a healthy lifestyle and patriotic values. The project has been implemented since 2024. The previous five stages took place in Sochi, Istra, Pskov, Saratov, and Kazan. Krasnoyarsk Krai was chosen as the venue for one of the stages not by chance: Andrey Arbuzov was born in Divnogorsk, where he began swimming and went through the initial stages of his sports development. He is an honored master of sports of Russia, world champion and record holder, European champion, and winner of the World Games.
In addition, during a working trip to the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Dmitry Chernyshenko visited the Assumption Monastery, where a prayer service took place and he held talks with Metropolitan Nikita of Krasnoyarsk and Achinsk and Metropolitan Mitrofan of Murmansk and Monchegorsk.
