In the Novogireevo area by renovation program residents are moving into a house on Svobodny Avenue. Sergey Sobyanin met with the newcomers and handed over the keys to a Moskvich car to the family of Artem Zarubeev — the 300,000th participant in the program who began resettlement.

“Under the renovation program, 300,000 residents of Moscow are receiving new apartments. By Moscow standards, it may seem like a small number, but it’s actually a whole regional city — 300,000 residents. The scale will be even larger going forward — another 700,000 residents need to be relocated,” noted Sergey Sobyanin.

Together with the new apartments, the participants programs receive upgraded schools and clinics, improved streets and courtyards, as well as many new popular places for recreation and handling everyday matters.

A monolithic four-section residential complex (RC) on Svobodny Avenue (house 12) was built according to an individual project. It fits harmoniously into the existing development.

The new building is located near the Novogireevo metro station. Nearby are the Cat Pond, Ivanovsky and Terletsky forest parks, Green Park, schools, kindergartens, a large stationary city clinical hospital named after V.P. Demikhov, as well as polyclinics, shopping centers and stores, sports clubs, and dining establishments.

The facades of the residential complex on Svobodny Prospect are clad with steel composite panels of a warm peach-yellow shade. The loggias are glazed, and ducts for air conditioners have been installed.

The new building has 470 apartments with a total area of over 29 thousand square meters. Improved finishing of the residential units and common areas has been carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Moscow renovation standard.

A house with a high energy efficiency rating is connected to an individual heating unit and is also equipped with an automated system for monitoring and accounting for resource consumption. This will help reduce operating costs and utility bills.

The residential complex also features a barrier-free environment for people with limited mobility and parents with strollers, with 12 elevators available. Technical rooms, mailboxes, concierge rooms, and storage areas for strollers and bicycles are located in the lobbies of the residential section. On the non-residential first floor, there are premises designated for shops and service enterprises.

A children’s playground, a sports ground, and a quiet relaxation area were located near the house.

“397 families are moving into new apartments — 1,056 residents of four buildings on Svobodny Prospekt and Saperny Passage. Among them is the family of Artem Zarubeev, who became the 300,000th resident to begin resettlement under the renovation program,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow on his channel in

in the messenger “Max”.

New residents will not need to transfer their children to other kindergartens or schools, register with a new clinic, or look for suitable shops and services again.

“One is even left speechless, honestly. We didn’t expect it; it exceeded all our expectations,” shared Artem Zarubeev.

Implementation of the renovation program in the Novogireevo district

In Novogireevo, 72 houses are included in the renovation program. About 16,100 people are expected to move into new apartments, which is nearly one in every six residents of the district.

Under the program, six residential complexes have been built and handed over for occupancy. Another one is currently under construction. The relocation to new apartments affected residents of 21 buildings.

“In Novogireevo, the renovation program is almost 30 percent complete. Currently, another building is under construction — on Federativny Avenue,” wrote Sergey Sobyanin.

Renovation program

The housing renovation program in Moscow was approved on August 1, 2017. It includes 5,175 buildings — about 350 thousand apartments with a total area of 16.4 million square meters, home to approximately one million residents.

More than nine million square meters of housing have already been put into operation (over 500 residential complexes). Design and construction are underway for about 11 million square meters of housing (over 500 projects).

Since the start of the program’s implementation, resettlement has covered more than 300 thousand city residents — inhabitants of over 1,700 old houses.

By the decision of the Mayor of Moscow, assistance with transporting belongings is provided free of charge to all program participants. Currently, more than 74,000 families have used this service — approximately 75 percent of the total number of those who have relocated.

Thus, the Moscow renovation program implements one of the key national development goals of Russia, defined by Vladimir Putin — increasing the volume of housing construction, improving citizens’ living conditions, and creating a comfortable and safe environment.

The program’s implementation also ensures the attraction of large-scale investments (about 1.2 trillion rubles for 2027–2029) into the economy, the development of industry through nearly 100 percent use of domestic materials, the introduction of innovative construction methods, and the creation of hundreds of thousands of jobs. Altogether, this is a powerful stimulus for economic growth and citizen well-being.

“My District.” Novogireevo

About 100,000 people live in the Novogireevo area. Among its landmarks are the park on Zeleny Avenue, Perovsky Square, the Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands, the Vadim Sidur Museum, the monument “To the Grieving Mothers,” and the memorial wall “To the Moscow Warriors Who Died in Afghanistan.”

In recent years, much has been done here to improve the quality of life for city residents. The majority of the initiatives were implemented under the “My District” program, created at the initiative of Sergey Sobyanin.

In Novogireevo, the transport infrastructure is being developed, with the ground metro having arrived here. Passengers are served by the Novogireevo and Kuskovo stations of the fourth line. Moscow Central Diameter (MCD-4). Novogireevo station was reconstructed: a new underground passenger vestibule was built with exits towards Fryazevskaya and Ketcherskaya streets, as well as two passenger platforms with shelters from precipitation. In addition, the vestibules of the Novogireevo metro station on the Kalininskaya line and the adjacent pedestrian crossings were completely renovated.

In April 2026, Sergey Sobyanin opened the second Moscow tram diameter, which runs from Novogireevo station of the MCD-4 to Chertanovskaya metro station. The 33-kilometer route connected 13 districts of the capital and improved transportation services for more than two million Muscovites, including residents of Novogireevo. Passengers are carried by over 50 modern “Vityaz-Moscow” and “Lvenok-Moscow” trams with autonomous operation. The area also introduced 14 new electric bus and bus routes, and installed more than 100 modern bus stop shelters. For cycling enthusiasts, 22 bike parking lots were equipped.

As part of the modernization of outpatient services, branches No. 2 (12a Soyuzny Prospect) and No. 3 (18a Utromnaya Street) of Children’s Polyclinic No. 7, as well as branches No. 1 (31 Federative Prospect) and No. 3 (17a Federative Prospect) of Polyclinic No. 69, were comprehensively reconstructed. The Women’s Health Center of City Clinical Hospital No. 15 named after O.M. Filatov (17 Federative Prospect, Building 20) was opened.

As part of the “My School” program, the building of School No. 1324 (27 Federative Prospect) was renovated. The district’s sports infrastructure was enhanced with a football arena (66d Perovskaya Street). In addition, the Olympia sports complex with a swimming pool (13a Fryazevskaya Street) underwent major repairs.

As a result of the reconstruction of the former cinema near the Novogireevo metro station, a multifunctional public center “Kirgiziya” was established. It also houses Moscow Longevity Center Novogireevo district — a space for communication, leisure, and creativity for the city’s older generation. Libraries No. 95 (Polimernaya Street, building 7, structure 2) and No. 96 (Svobodny Prospect, building 24) have been extensively renovated.

A new church of Saint Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir (Perovskaya Street, property 64) has opened for parishioners.

In the district, Perovsky Square, Green Park, and the park on Zeleny Prospekt were improved. A pedestrian route was arranged along the 3rd Prospekt Novogireevo from the Novogireevo metro station to the station of the same name on MCD-4. The area near the Kuskovo MCD-4 station was also put in order. On Novoteterka Street, an open-air sports cluster appeared with a pump track, a skate park, and courts for streetball and volleyball.

Svobodny and Soyuzny Prospekts, Korennaya, Perovskaya, Bratskaya, and Utrennyaya Streets, Aleksei Dikiy Street, as well as the passage from Utrennyaya to Polimernaya Street have been transformed. In the area, 152 courtyards and 86 playgrounds were renovated, and 350 outdoor lighting poles were installed.

In 2026, a waterside recreation area was established near the Bolshoy Perovsky Pond. After bank reinforcement work, a decking on piles with a terrace board covering was laid here, along with the installation of sun loungers, deck chairs, and shade canopies. Changing rooms with showers and toilets were equipped, as well as children’s and sports playgrounds. Visitors also have access to a multifunctional pavilion with a café.

Local residents can purchase fresh farm products at the weekend market (Zeleny Prospekt, property 22). It operates year-round from Friday to Sunday.
