Over the past three months, more than 17 thousand people have been forced to leave their homes due to violence in Haiti. The total number of internally displaced persons has reached almost 1.5 million, of which more than 740 thousand are children. This was stated on Monday in the Security Council by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, head of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti, Carlos Ruiz Massey.
