During the autumn holidays from October 26 to 30, the city’s employment service invites teenagers aged 14–17 to the career guidance projects “PROHeroes” and “PROCareer.” Students will experience an immersion into a real working environment, training in the development of universal skills, and thematic excursions. Participation is free, but registration is required. Applications for the projects are accepted “PROCareer” and “PROHeroes” open until October 22.

“During the autumn holidays, we have prepared projects for Moscow schoolchildren that will help them get closer to various professions, develop soft skills, and make new friends. ‘PROCareer’ offers an opportunity to try out one of the professions — from information technology and creative industries to construction and social services. ‘PROHeroes’ allows them to learn about the daily life of active firefighters, rescuers, and aircraft designers, as well as master basic professional skills and see how emergency rescue teams operate. This year, we have added a new direction, ‘Medicine’, which will introduce kids to the healthcare field and teach them how to act in emergency situations,” said Andrey Tarasov, head of the Moscow Employment Service and the ‘Professions of the Future’ center.”

Try the profession in practice

The “PROCareer” project offers young men and women the opportunity to choose a field of study at one of the specialized schools. There are four areas to choose from: information technology, education and social work, creative industries, and construction.

Practical exercises, teamwork were prepared for the participants, as well as the opportunity to gain new knowledge and try their hand at solving real professional tasks.

At the “PR Specialist” school, teenagers will learn how to work with an audience, create and promote projects, as well as manage image and content. At the “Blog as a Profession” school, you can learn how to find ideas for posts, shoot and edit video content. Experts from the “Code 112” school will share the basics of first aid and teach the correct actions to take in emergency situations.

At the “Energy School,” specialists from PJSC “MOEK” and lecturers from the National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute” will talk about the basics of thermal power engineering. At the “Moscow Transport” professional school, teenagers will learn about professions related to urban transport and go on excursions to companies within the transport complex.

The course “Digital Security” offers training in a comprehensive investigation format: participants analyze data, study the network, work with logs, and propose protective measures. In the “Counselor” school, teenagers learn about event organization, and at the end, they will hold their own team event.

In the “About Professions” direction, everything is built on practice. Participants learn the basics of plumbing work, turning and milling, design, as well as barista and bartender skills. They will assemble simple units, see how the conveyor works, create printed product designs, and prepare drinks.

Introduction to heroic professions

The “PROHeroes” project offers participants the choice of three directions — the tracks “Rescuers,” “Aviation and Cosmonautics,” and “Medicine.” Thus, within the “Rescuers” direction, teenagers will visit search and rescue stations on water bodies, meet professionals in the field, learn the basics of first aid, and also learn how to properly handle victims near water bodies.

The “Aviation and Astronautics” direction will introduce the work of an aircraft mechanic, astronaut, and aircraft designer. Teenagers will also learn more about the history of the space industry and will be able to visit the “Almaz” space station module.

A new direction this year is the “Medicine” track. Here, participants will gain basic first aid skills, learn more about healthcare professions, and acquire the ability to act in emergency situations.
